Social Media is an important aspect to how you market your business. It’s really important that you stay up-to-date with all the new changes to sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The ever evolving Facebook has launched some brand new features that you’ve got to get to grips with, if you haven’t already.
1. Profiles
The new Facebook profile will be in the form of a timeline, a scrap book of your life if you will. Facebook are keen to encourage people to tell their story and these new features portray this.
2. Friend lists
The friend list feature is used by only 5% of Facebook users – that means it’s really really unpopular! Facebook have created new lists for your friends that are much easier to use, as well as being more useful for users. The new lists are named smart lists, friends and acquaintances. Seems like a definitely tactic to catch up with Google +’s circles.
3. The ticker!
The ticker is a real-time news ticker created to ensure that you never miss an update. Facebook suggested in a blog post that the ticker is designed to be your own personal newspaper. How does it do this? By adjusting the feed to show content based on the last time you checked it. So now when you check your news feed, you’ll see that there will be x amount of top stories since you last visited.
4. Subscribe button
The new subscribe button allows you to follow the public updates of people that you are not friends with. In other words, it’s very much like following someone on Twitter.
5. Live your life through Facebook!
You can watch TV and movies, listen to music, and read news with yours friends. Blimey!
