Congratulations to Our Big Festive Giveaway Winners

Thanks to everyone who entered Our Big Festive Giveaway! After much deliberation, we’re very excited to announce our winning Pioneers…

Best answer goes to…

Sophie Liggat! She also nominated Kimberley Glover and here’s her winning entry below.
2011 highlight: Finally turning my passion into a business, although hard work and not always going my way the challenge has made my life so purposeful and moving the business on has meant that I have suprised myself with my own capabilities! Long may it continue!

I nominate: Kimberly Glover – a fellow VMP and Caker also just starting out, we exchange advice and ideas & have found each other invaluable in the expanding world of Cakes. This prize would be an invaluable tool to provide a professional image during consulations and to showcase portfolios.

Prize:

Both Sophie and Kimberley have won an iPad 2 and Disgo!

And a big congrats to our runners-up

Alastair Cameron nominated Dubem Menakaya
2011 highlight: In July, I was made redundant, after 9 years of hard-work and dedication. However redundancy has been a positive experience and helped me consider what I want to achieve and be remembered for. I am now using my own talents and skills to create my own job, future and possibilities.

I nominate: Dubem Ses Menakaya – Dubem has written some inspirational words for TheEmployable which is the site I now Co Own. Dubem is an inspirational guy and although I don’t know him personally, he is positive representative of what a young and motivated person can and will achieve.

Laura Brown nominated Charmaine Capener
2011 highlight: Being voted Pioneer of the week and going on to win Pioneer of the month was a big highlight for me and my don’t call me cupcake business. Taking advice from the site has allowed me to learn from the best and gain valuable advice. :)
I nominate: Charmaine from Cup O Cakes. She is a pioneer with her innovate designs and is a leader in the baking industry.

Marty Bell nominated Adnan Ebrahim
2011 highlight: Standing on the balcony of Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal shopping centre, looking down on the food court that we’d cleared out and filled with 2,300 party animals and thinking ‘wow – I done that..’. Seeing the ecstatic faces of hundreds of people & knowing I’d made their month.
I nominate: I’d love to share this prize with user Adnan Ebrahim. He’s put up a great video for the Pioneers and has founded a super-fresh car review website with great potential. Seems like a great guy destined for success.

Denis Asamoah nominated Pilar Nilwamba
2011 highlight: To have made so many mistakes, but more importantly learnt from them. I ain’t going to say 2012 is going to be my year! Nevertheless, I hope to continue to motivate, inspire and empower the next generation of young people.
I nominate: Pilar Nalwimba. During the year, she lost her job and a girl band she had managed for years. Despite this, she has managed to keep her head up and run a number of successful networking events and have the likes of Deloitte and Poppy Disney support and speak at events.

Prize:

Congratulations to all 8 of you who have won a Netbook and a Disgo!
